How to take good photos

  1. Front and back, at a minimumBoth faces are graded. Two photos is the floor; more angles only ever help.
  2. Straight on, not at an angleHold the camera parallel to the card and fill the frame. A square-on photo is what lets the centering be measured rather than estimated.
  3. Add close-ups of the corners and edgesCorners and edges are where most grades are lost, and they are the hardest thing to see in a whole-card shot.
  4. Even light, no flashFlash blows out holo cards and hides surface scratches. Daylight or a soft lamp, angled off to one side, shows the surface as it really is.

Questions before you shoot.

Is this an official PSA, Beckett, TAG or ACE grade?

No. Pullworthy is not affiliated with or endorsed by PSA, Beckett (BGS), TAG or ACE. What you get is our own automated estimate of how those companies' published standards would likely score your card — not an official, submitted, or slabbed grade. Only a paid submission to one of those companies produces an authoritative grade. A slab is the only authoritative grade; we exist so you stop paying for slabs that come back as 7s.

How accurate is the grading estimate?

The estimate combines computer-vision centering measurement (accurate to 0.1%) with an AI read of corners, edges and surface, mapped against each company's published grading criteria. It is a strong directional opinion, not a guarantee — human graders can weigh subjective factors (print quality, gloss, hologram scratches under raking light) differently than any automated system, so your submitted grade may come back higher or lower than the estimate. Check it yourself: the centering numbers are on screen, the defects are drawn on your photos, and you can re-shoot any area we flagged. If the evidence looks thin, the report says so.

What photos do I need to get an estimate?

At minimum, a clear front and back photo of the card in good, even lighting with the card flat and fully in frame. More angles help the centering and surface checks catch more detail.

Is Pullworthy free to use?

Yes. Uploading photos and getting a condition estimate is free, with no account required.

Can I share my grading report with someone else?

Yes. Every completed estimate gets a shareable report link. Anyone with the link can view it; the link uses an unguessable id and report pages are excluded from search engine indexing to keep them private by default.

Should I submit my card to a grading company based on this estimate?

That decision is yours. Pullworthy is meant to help you gauge whether a card looks strong enough to be worth the cost and wait of an official submission — it is an estimate to inform that decision, not a substitute for it.

Do you take a cut when I sell a card?

No payments run through us, so there is nothing to take a cut of. You talk to the buyer, you make the deal. Pullworthy hosts listings and messages; it is not a party to any sale, takes no payment, and holds no money. Sellers, buyers and card authenticity are not verified — you are dealing directly with another collector.
